Introducing Directee

Four years ago, I posted about CareNote, the pastoral care software I'd built for churches. A spiritual director friend of mine, Suhail Stephen, wrote back: "If you ever want to build something for spiritual directors, I have some ideas."

Today, the thing we built together is out. It's called Directee, and you can find it at directee.app.

Here's what I learned building it. A spiritual director's work is the hour with a directee. Everything around that hour is paperwork: getting the appointment on the calendar, writing the note afterward, sending the invoice, and keeping the records straight. Most directors hold all of that together with five or six unrelated apps, and the seams show up at the worst moments.

Directee puts scheduling, appointment notes, invoicing, and records in one quiet place, built around the trust that the work depends on. Notes are private to the director. Appointments sync from the scheduling link you already send. Invoices go out and get marked paid without a spreadsheet.

If you're a spiritual director, or you're in training, you can try every feature free for 28 days with no card. If you have five directees or fewer, it stays free. And if something doesn't work the way you'd hope, there's a real phone number on the contact page, and I'm the one who answers it.
